George Edward Binks
These are pages from my final book showing the story of my great-grandfather, George Edward Binks, while he had retrograde amnesia during the 1st and 2nd world wars. He was on a merchant ship at the time of his accident and was presumed dead by his family and friends for over two years. Since the true story of what happened to George is lost, I thought this would be a challenging subject for my minor project and wanted to show George's journey to remember who he was and who he left behind.

Title Image
My work depicts the explorer Isabella Bird and her journey through the Rocky Mountains as she becomes immersed in the majestic and sublime landscape. My desire is to provoke an aura of calm solitude through my work and allow the audience to see the mountains through her eyes.

May
This is my illustration for May to be put into a calender along with other work from illustration students at my uni.
Stories Unfolding
This is what my final images looked like together. I wanted to capture the woman's loneliness and her desire to lead another life.
Stories Unfolding Project
These are some selected pieces of work from my project Stories Unfolding. It was a reporatage project based on a woman working at a meat stall in Maidstone Market. The project was from September to December 2011.
